Enjoy performance and longevity with urethane cyclones
Our urethane cyclones give you the best of all worlds from a small capital outlay to high capacity and quality, to a long wear life. And our lower weight construction facilitates easy installation.
What we offer
Separate yourself from the rest
You depend on high capacity and quality while at the same time expecting low maintenance and minimum downtime. Demand equipment that will perform at its best day in and day out.
Our urethane cyclones dependably perform ultrafine separations and handle large volume feed with high solids loading, making them ideal for solids classification and separation in wet processes. Their lightweight construction, small footprint and ease of handling make them a good option for both mining and industrial applications. And the quality urethane construction delivers the abrasion and corrosion resistance you require.
Common urethane cyclone applications (industrial and mining)
- Municipal well water treatment
- Chemical
- Sewage and wastewater treatment
- Plant intake water
- Gypsum dewatering
- Soil remediation
- Limestone classification (WFGD process)
- Drilling mud
- Coal classifying
- Vehicle wash water
- Degrit process water
- Industrial manufacturing
Urethane cyclones and manifolds
Most urethane cyclone sizes are available with our patented gMAX® geometry, giving you finer and sharper particle separations with large, high-capacity cyclones. Our gMAX 25 mm (1 in) cyclone achieves separation as fine as 10 microns, which may be comparable to competitors’ cyclones of the same size, sold by other cyclone manufacturers, but our gMAX cyclones operate at a much higher capacity. Learn more about gMAX® cyclone technology.
If your process flow exceeds the capacity of an individual cyclone, we recommend installing multiple cyclones on a common manifold to achieve your necessary process capacity. Cyclone manifolds are available in a variety of configurations and are custom tailored to your application.
Canister manifold system
Our canister manifold is a radial manifold with integral overflow and underflow launders that share a common wall. Canister manifolds are typically rubber lined, and generally offer better access to isolation valves for operational flexibility and maintenance purposes.
For tight spaces we can design radial or inline manifolds with multiple cyclones. As an added benefit, we can easily retrofit our cyclones into your existing processes.
Spider manifold system
A spider radial manifold design is commonly used for cyclones with a diameter less than 152 mm (6 in). The primary advantages are a very small footprint and reduced underflow launder size. Spider manifolds are more suited to process low concentration, relatively non-abrasive slurries. They are commonly used for desliming to remove ultrafine clays and other inert material from the primary classifying cyclone stream.
Inline manifold system
Our inline manifold is generally only appropriate for processing fine solids that do not readily segregate in the pipe. Its benefits include lower cost and a geometry that typically connects more easily to plant piping. Typical applications include removal of fine solids in chemical and water treatment processes.
Key benefits
Urethane cyclones that are up to your tough wet-process challenges
Finer, sharper separations
Our urethane cyclones achieve 25% to 40% finer, sharper separations than standard cyclones. In a manifold, they can handle any flow rate from 3.8 litres per minute (1 gpm) to more than 18,927
litres per minute (5,000 gpm).
Low capital cost
When you can operate efficiently with fewer cyclones, you save money. We have designed our urethane cyclones to inexpensively fit or retrofit into your existing operation and processes.
Wear resistant for long service life
Two-component moulded urethane construction provides maximum strength, along with abrasion and corrosion resistance, for a long wear life.
Minimal maintenance
Our cyclones come as close to maintenance-free as any equipment can. The lightweight individual sections can be simply and quickly replaced when they wear.
Product features
A full line of moulded urethane separation solutions
Our line of KREBS Urethane Cyclones includes various manifold options and gMAX® technology to give you equipment that perfectly fits your needs.
Cyclone features:
Sizes ranging from 13–15 mm (0.5–15 in) in diameter
Separation D50s as fine as 3 microns
Flow rates per cyclone ranging from 2.27–1,136 litres per minute (0.6–300 gpm) or more
Manifold arrangements available for unlimited capacities
As a leading cyclone manufacturer, our gMAX technology is available for most sizes of urethane cyclones. This technology incorporates modern apex and cone designs for performance-enhancing benefits. We modified the cyclone inlet and cylindrical sections to minimise turbulence and wear, and provide the capability to operate at a much higher capacity than other cyclones of the same diameter.
