Safety first

Building a culture of health and safety across our own sites and at our customers is core to our Zero Harm 2030 ambition.

Supportive and attractive working conditions

FLSmidth’s flat hierarchical structure in a matrix organisation ensures management is readily accessible to employees. We develop our leaders to encourage open communication and strong support with day-to-day challenges to ensure that employees are set up for success.

To further facilitate a healthy work-life balance, many employees take advantage of our flexible work arrangements, such as remote work arrangements or adjusted hours where this is suitable. Working hours in each location are governed by local policies and several locations are further regulated by collective bargaining agreements. We respect the right of the employees to organize.

A rewarding career

To achieve equitable rewards and recognition for our people, our rewards philosophy is centered on the key principles of market alignment, performance and transparent communication. Our remuneration offerings consist of a flexible mix of base pay, short-term incentive plans, long-term incentive plans, local bonuses and benefits for eligible employees. We strongly believe in equitable pay and proactively address any gender pay gaps and paying living wages. Read more about our actions on paying living wages in our sustainability reports.

Continuous focus on engagement

High employee engagement through a positive employee experience is key to delivering on our strategy. Our greater focus on working conditions, development as well as diversity, equity and inclusion provides a solid foundation, but we continually strive to improve the employee experience. For example, our employees get their voices heard through regular engagement surveys that support in identifying areas of improvement whether in general or on specific topics such as mental well-being.
