FLSmidth – a global organisation discovering potential
Guided by our strategy; Productivity Provider #1, everyone in our organisation strives to enhance our customer’s business, and with a reduced environmental impact. We ensure this by developing and driving innovative life-cycle offerings, and collaborating closely with our customers and other stakeholders.
We Discover Potential
Driven by the inquisitive nature and a curious mind of our pioneering founder, Frederik Læssøe Smidth, all 11,700 employees in FLSmidth work hard every day to discover new paths in a complex environment.
Here at FLSmidth, we challenge conventions and explore opportunities, and it is deeply rooted in our culture to look for potential in any discovery.
We have a work environment that gives people the opportunity to put their curiosity to play – to seek new solutions and new ways of working, and we all share the ambition of giving our customers a competitive edge.
Delivering our life-cycle offerings
We are a truly global organisation, spanning two primary industries; cement and mining. Sales and service is decentralised into seven regions, and to support our customers' growth we deliver integrated productivity offerings through the regions.
Our two industries drive both our life cycle offering portfolio, as well as our global strategy to strengthen our position as Productivity Provider #1 in cement and mining. Our focus on these two industries ensures that we have the right products and the right portfolio to be competitive throughout the life cycle. We deliver innovation, competitive lifecycle offering, technical and sales support to our regions and project management for complex projects.
Through our seven regions, we remain close to our customers and their operations, and every region is responsibility for sales, service execution and order handling. The regions are:
- North America
- South America
- Europe, Russia & North Africa
- Sub-Saharan Africa & Middle East
- Subcontinental India
Our local presence in more than 50 countries gives the customer a shorter delivery time and a strong service and life-cycle offering. It also puts the customers more at ease, as local employees have built and maintained close relations with the customers. They also utilise their in-depth knowledge about regional conditions, culture and development to the benefit of the customers.
Group functions matches support to the needs of the industries and regions, and our digital organisation drives our unified approach to digitalization to enhance productivity.
