Key Benefits

  • Reduce belt misalignment and eliminate material spillage
  • Easily integrate with existing mining operations
  • Improve safety by automating transfer points
  • Streamline material flow and increase efficiency

Automatically align uncoupled transfer points of linked mining machines

The Transfer Point Alignment (TPA) user interface lets you see all transfer points in real-time – so you can react to misalignment before it becomes an issue.

Relocating linked mining machines in a way that process related downtime is minimised while reducing the risk of collisions is a challenging task, even for experienced operators. By automating such operations through a Transfer Point Alignment (TPA) system, you can increase your productivity, machine availability and lower your operational cost.

Our TPA system is able to control and automatically align multiple transfer points of continuous mining machines. It automatically keeps an optimal height / distance between the transfer points and enables a continuous material flow along the conveyor chain.

Increase your productivity and reduce operational costs

Increase your productivity through continuous material flow, shorter relocation downtime and boost operational safety. TPA automation is compatible with all machine control systems and uses standard industrial network protocols.

Benefits of our TPA

  • Streamline material flow through your downstream operations
  • Reduce belt misalignment and eliminate material spillage
  • Improve safety by automating transfer points
  • Easily integrate with existing mining operations

Real-time visualisation

The Transfer Point Alignment (TPA) user interface offers you real-time visualization of a machine’s constellation and any transfer point misalignment. It also allows you to edit parameters and show diagnosis information, alarms and trend graphic

Multi sensor solution

Our TPA system measures the position of each mobile machine involved in the excavation process, using radar and GPS sensors. The automated system then evaluates the current machine constellation to determine optimal transfer point position, and sends individual commands to different actuators if the necessary positions aren’t met, even under tough environmental conditions such as fog, dust or snow.

User interface with touch screen

The TPA user interface lets you see all transfer points in real-time – so you can react to misalignment before it becomes an issue. It also provides the wireless communication towards the system and allows you to edit parameters and show diagnosis information, alarms and trend graphics, so that you can optimise efficiency across your operation.

Visual overview

For this, one camera should be installed at each material transfer point in order to have an optical overview on the status. This picture / video information is very telling to assess, for example, where material is present and if the continuous handling system is in proper operation.

The TPA automation can be applied to any mobile mining machine

In a continuous mining system with a leading machine and following machines, the TPA enables fully automated positioning of the connected machines through the associated movements of the subsequent machines in relation to the patterns of the leading machine. Such automation increases efficiency and availability and finally improves operators’ safety.
