Key Benefits

  • Representative sampling
  • Long-wearing, low maintenance design
  • Faster and safer than manual methods
  • Customized to suit your needs

Skilled design allows you to sample slurries with confidence

Accurate and representative sampling is crucial for effective process and quality control. That’s why our range of slurry gravity samplers have been designed to achieve consistent, representative and reliable sampling for both online analysis and metallurgical accounting

Based on our decades of experience, we combine consulting, design, engineering and support services to develop the most reliable sampling solution for your business.

As well as being faster, safer and more cost-effective than manual sampling, our slurry gravity sampler range ensures samples are taken in accordance with best practice so you can be sure you’re getting accurate, dependable results.

We employ basic theory of sampling (TOS) principles, the rules of good, representative sampling methods as well as international industry standards.

Ballscrew and Belt Drive Linear Samplers

Our range of linear cross-cut samplers is designed for optimal, fully representative sampling, and with emphasis on robust and reliable operation in harsh environments. They are suited to process flows where a horizontal launder section feeds into a large vertical chute.

Vezin Sampler

The rotary Vezin Sampler is often used as secondary or tertiary cross-stream slurry sampler for metallurgical accounting. They suit smaller sample flows and are typically timer controlled or dependent on the operation of the preceding sampler in the system.

Moving Pipe Sampler

A self-contained sampler installed in a gravity flow, non-pressurised pipe system for both slurry and free-flowing granular solids.

Ideal for smaller diameter pipe work due to its simple flange-to-flange installation, the feed falls through the sampler which contains a fixed, geometrically accurate cutter, and a flexible pipe that moves back and forth across the cutter perpendicular to the aperture.

Slurry Arcual Sampler

An arcual type sampler for cross stream sampling of a vertical, non-pressurised pipe, falling stream of slurry.

The fully enclosed unit contains a traversing radial sample cutter that passes at uniform speed through the falling stream of slurry.

Commonly used for composite and accounting sampling, a representative sample is taken from a vertical process flow.

Ballscrew and Belt Drive Linear Samplers
  • Simple but robust low maintenance belt-drive or ballscrew drive mechanism

  • Precise speed control even under extreme loads – satisfies sampling theory of constant speed requirement

  • Cutter carriage assembly designed to roll freely on bearings and wheels

  • Integrated lifting eyes

  • Large hinged inspection doors that allow viewing of the machine in operation

  • Hinged safety access screens that allow easy adjustment of control devices

Vezin Sampler
  • Angular bottom plates preventing sample material build-up

  • The cutter and liners are readily replaceable in the field

  • Radial (wedge-shaped) cutter opening cross section as is required for rotary style samplers

  • Convenient access/inspection panels

  • Optional internal rubber lining

  • Optional automatic internal wash-down

  • Proximity switches to ensure cutter parking is out of the stream

Moving Pipe Sampler
  • Can be used as a stand-alone primary sampler or as a downstream splitter in a secondary, tertiary or quaternary staged sampling system

  • Electric braked gearmotor moves the flexible pipe at uniform velocity

  • Change the pipe velocity, cut frequency and cutter aperture to suit your sampling system

  • Reversible stainless-steel cutter blades to double their wear-life

  • Two sizes of cutter blades to allow cutter apertures to be set between 10 and 50 mm

  • Flanges allow easy connection to existing pipework

Slurry Arcual Sampler
  • Developed using correct cutter geometry design with radial cutter edges to accurately cut a fixed portion of the stream

  • Cutter is directly driven by a fixed speed three phase electric motor and gearbox combination

  • Cutter spoon is designed to ensure the required amount of representative sample is collected

  • The drive is designed so that the cutter always rests outside the slurry stream by using inductive proximity sensors to control the parking

  • Constructed from wear-resistant steel with replaceable cutter lips manufactured from Ni Hard steel fitted to the cutter spoon

Dual Stage Slurry Sampler
  • The primary sampler is an arcual (radial path) cutter that traverses the falling stream at set intervals, collecting a sample from the full width of the stream

  • The cutter traverses the stream at constant velocity and then stops and parks well outside the stream. The travel is controlled by sensors and a PLC

  • Primary samples are collected in a surge box and mixed with an agitator to ensure the slurry is kept in suspension during the secondary sampling process

  • The secondary sampler is a Vezin style sampler with a sample cutter which can be operated continuously or intermittently to ensure the desired final sample volume is achieved

  • The primary sample cutter has wash-down jets at each park position to allow the cutter to be cleaned between samples. This prevents slurry build up on the cutter aperture avoiding blockages and contamination between samples

  • The body of the sampler can be lined with natural rubber, polyurethane or manufactured from stainless steel

  • Flanges allow easy connection to existing pipework
