Principle of Operation
- The Docksider three-section vacuum arm and vacuum nozzle are manipulated through the material.
- Material is drawn by vacuum through the arm piping and hoses into the transfer vessels. Suction is created by a deep-vacuum rotary lobe blower.
- The vacuum air is separated from the material by multiple high-efficiency filter cartridges. Material falls by gravity to the kettle bottom.
- Once the kettle is full, it is pressurized by air supplied by an oil-free screw compressor. The pressurizing air is introduced into the top of the kettle, as well as through dozens of Fullerator™ aeration pads to assure fluidization of the entire material bed.
- Upon reaching optimal pressure, the discharge pinch valve opens and material is conveyed into the pipeline.
- While one kettle is pressurizing and discharging, the other kettle is filling – assuring uninterrupted, high-capacity conveying!
- From the time the material enters the vacuum nozzle to the time it reaches its storage destination, it is fully encapsulated in a system of piping, hoses and vessels. This makes the Docksider pneumatic barge unloader the most environmentally-friendly transfer system in the industry.
Pre-Packaged Equipment Room
The vacuum pump, control air system motor controls and programmable logic controller are installed, wired and piped in a sound attenuated enclosure - ready for
placement on the dock or work barge.
FLSmidth Sahara™ Compressor
Oil-free air at up to 51 psig enables long-distance conveying through practical pipeline diameters - packaged on a robust steel base and supplied with an insulated outdoor enclosure.
