FLSmidth submits its first progress report to the UN Global Compact
7 February 2011, FLSmidth submitted its first CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) report to the UN Global Compact, referred to as the Communication on Progress (COP) 2010 report.
The report is available on UN Global Compact’s webpage and on www.flsmidth.com.
FLSmidth signed the UN Global Compact in 2008 in order to create greater transparency and accountability within the area of CSR. Since then, FLSmidth has worked on formalising and clarifying the principles of social responsibility in order to account on the progresses made. Among other things, a Global CSR Coordinator has been appointed in order to coordinate and report on FLSmidth's worldwide CSR activities.
With this progress report to the UN Global Compact, FLSmidth communicates on its CSR activities and initiatives while simultaneously supporting and committing to the ten UN principles of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. FLSmidth wishes to support these principles in areas where the Group has a significant influence and thereby reports on these areas in the COP 2010 report.
The report replaces the Danish statutory account on social responsibility cf. the opt-out in the Financial Statements Act section 99a.
