FLSmidth to Supply Pyroprocessing Line for Cement Plant in Peru
FLSmidth was awarded a contract by Cemento Andino S.A. for a new pyroprocessing line.
The Condorcocha plant, located approximately 200 km from Lima at 3950 masl (meters above sea level), will be expanded with a new 2100 tonnes per day line to achieve a total capacity of almost 6000 tonnes per day. As a result, Cemento Andino will be better positioned to support Peru’s rising demand for cement.
During the contract discussions for the project, the customer’s technical team, led by ARPL Tecnología Industrial S.A., and FLSmidth’s project team collaborated to optimize the design. The FLSmidth scope of supply consists of a 5-stage preheater with an ILC (In-Line Calciner) and a Multi-Movable Cross-BarTM cooler. In addition, engineering services, project management, training, and commissioning are included. Furthermore, all equipment was selected to minimize operating costs and ensure that all applicable World Bank environmental standards are achieved.
Project execution will be led by the US Project Office, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and will be supported by FLSmidth’s personnel based in Andean Region. The new line will be commissioned in 2010.
