Control of Filter

It is often requested from the supplier of filter and scrubber that one or more gases are monitored by the entrance to the particular part of the exit gas cleaning. Typical gases to be measured for control purposes are SO2, HCl and H2O. These measurements may be used for the dosing of lime in the bag filter or for control of the wet scrubber. Especially for plants with bag filters, it is interesting to know the concentration of H2O in order to avoid blockage of the filter and to ensure optimum efficiency of the lime.

Measurement of HCl and H2O is often made by laser light; a measurement principle with short response times performing in high temperatures and high dust loads with minimum maintenance.

Measurement of SO2 is often made by an extractive analysis system such as GASloq 800 with an ABB Uras 14 or Limas 11 monitor.

• Measurement of SO2 by a GASloq 600 analysis system with an ABB Uras 14 monitor
• Measurement of HCl by the in-situ measurement principle with i.e. NEO LaserGas monitor
• Measurement of H2O by the in-situ measurement principle with i.e. NEO LaserGas monitor
• Measurement of HCl and H2O may be combined in one LaserGas monitor
• Demands for reliable measurements – high dust concentrations
• Demands for short response times for control purposes
