FLSmidth has ongoing programs devoted to finding new products, new materials, and better ways to meet the requirements of a broad range of applications. This research and development has yielded important advances in many product designs.
We conduct pilot plant feasibility studies ranging from simple milling and drying to more integrated pyroprocessing systems, based on rotary kilns and gas suspension calcining. We also have the capability and expertise to design your pilot plant, build it, and optimize it for profitability.
Each application is analyzed based on raw material characteristics and product quality requirements before the optimum technology is selected. Bench scale testing and extensive pilot plant facilities are available, so the entire process can be analyzed for feasibility. The test results, coupled with extensive data from commercial operations, are used to scale up to the commercial size process.
