Enviro Seal
The FLSmidth PKS Enviro Seal can be one of the most cost-effective modifications available for your kiln or dryer. A very effective seal with a simple mechanical design, the Enviro Seal’s only maintenance requirement is the occasional replacement of worn out seal leaves. This provides a more effective product with lower operating and maintenance costs. Wear parts such as shoes, cables, rollers, counterweights, graphite blocks and holder springs are not part of the Enviro Seal design.
The FLSmidth PKS Enviro Seal is designed to:
- Resist damage from the high temperature environment of kiln operation
- Address the three major causes of seal failure: run-out, expansion and abrasion
- Help prevent trapping of dust in the seal
SFX Ovality Beam
Ovality, the dynamic change in the roundness of a kiln as it operates, is a very critical piece of information. Identifying high ovality helps explain mechanical refractory failure and gives a more complete picture of kiln alignment characteristics.
The high-resolution FLSmidth PKS SFX Ovality Beam system provides the data necessary to accurately determine kiln ovality. This method permits graphing the results as standard x/y-axis plots, which allows ovality characteristics to be shown in much greater detail than is possible with conventional mechanical beams, thereby minimizing costly damage and downtime.
The SFX Ovality Beam provides direct software-controlled readings and data collection on a PDA.Carrying Rollers
Material hardness, type of alloy, solid forged or sleeved: FLSmidth engineers will help you choose the appropriate roller construction for your equipment and operating environment. Each roller is machined to your exact specifications.
Sleeved Rollers
Sleeving damaged rollers can be an economical repair alternative. FLSmidth can re-manufacture your worn cast-type roller and provide you with forged performance by shrinking the sleeve over your old cast core. Refurbishing worn internal bearing rollers also provides cost-saving benefits.
A refurbished carrying roller using FLSmidth’s proprietary shrink-fit process is guaranteed not to loosen. Seamless, thick wall forged sleeves provide uniform strength and hardness throughout the roller. Our proprietary knowledge of the proper combination of sleeve thickness and fit is the key to this guarantee.Graphite Blocks
FLSmidth PKS Graphite Blocks establish long-lasting, maintenance-free controlled lubrication at minimum cost. The weight of the block is sufficient to keep it in constant contact with the carrying roller surface, thereby depositing a thin film of graphite on the rolling surfaces.
Graphite blocks are available in a number of standard sizes, in various combinations of thickness, width and length.
