FLSmidth's Summit Valley Electrowinning Cells have the highest actual cathode volume per cell. The industry standard sizing does not equate to their total working area. This is an important fact to consider when comparing electrowinning cells.
FLSmidth offers non-basketed cathode designs. This design requires significantly less labor for cell servicing and cathode washing (in cell). The non-basketed design streamlines servicing by abolishing the separate cathode wash tank and eliminating the need to remove the electrode from the cell for service.
All Summit Valley cells are constructed of 304 stainless steel and lined with polypropylene in the working area. While FLSmidth's stainless steel cells may cost a little more than our competition's fiberglass or polypropylene cells, our cells do not require continual maintenance compared to a fiberglass or polypropylene body. Combine this with the higher efficiency of our cells, Summit Valley Cells cost much less to operate over the life of your plant.
