FLSmidth’s Dry Salt Harvesters can harvest salts without the need of parting planes. Combined with a RAHCO® Mobile Conveyor System, a single operator can run the entire salt harvesting operation, eliminating the need for trucks and drivers.

Our self-propelled, crawler-mounted Dry Salt Harvesters use rotary cutters to harvest the salt deposits. The cutterhead rotates in an “up cut” direction to avoid pulverizing the salt and leaving multiple fines. This also allows the cutter head to excavate more material with less horsepower. The operator can vary the cutterhead speed as well as the track speed to achieve maximum performance as material conditions change.

Harvesters can discharge to either side or to the rear into trucks or conveyors using a swinging arm discharge conveyor. They can also be fitted with systems that are GPS or radio based. The harvesters range in weight from 20 to 40 tonnes and have capacities from 200 to 400 tonnes/hour.
