The HP water door cleaner can be an integrated part of the SCP or CP-Machine or can be installed in the battery line as stationary cleaning system. The small size enables a space-saving integration even under limited assembly preconditions.

Our fully automated door cleaner provides a innovative way towards non-polluting coke ovens with a pressure up to 600bar. Because of the low water consumption and the low maintenance, FLSmidth enables customers to save the environment at low operating costs. Of course, we can also offer the latest design of mechanical coke oven door cleaners as well as mechanical coke oven door frame cleaners.

For a trouble-free operation of the cole oven, it is essential to keep records of its temperature distribution. For this purpose FLSmidth provides several systems that make this possible

KOTA (Coke Oven Temperature Analysis) is a special instrument for temperature measurements inside the oven. The wall temperature is measured on the left side and on the right side in several different levels during the pushing process. Over a mathematical procedure a picture of the temperature distribution on the surface of the coke oven wall is mathematically determined and produced graphically from the line plot of the chamber wall temperature measurement. Through combination with software add-ons it is even possible to monitor the wall temperature in real time.

Especially instrumental in preventing damages is the visualization of hot spots. The temperature range which can be analyzed is freely selectable, so that you can represent also cold spots. These are highlighted with a coloured mark.

A built-in movie player shows the temperature development over a longer period.

With the so-called accordion view the user gets information not only about one coke oven but also about the neighbour walls in a single visualization.

HETA (Heating Flue Temperature Analysis)‏

Due to the increased needs concerning the analysis of the heating course temperatures and their measurement the module HETA was developed. This assistant supports the measuring personnel beginning from the connection of the camera to evaluating the measuring curves. A special feature is the readout of the pyrometer Kleiber 315K:

After this three-step procedure of reading out, assigning and editing, the values are stored in the database and the analysis module is opened.

For the visualization of the measurements the module "curve plotting" was integrated. There, apart from various visualization options within the curve plotting, also reports can be printed.

Automation systems

Automation of the coke oven machinery and service units are becoming increasingly important in modern coking plant technology. FLmidth can provide several solutions concerning automation functions of the machinery. Different forms of technology are available. In case of bus docking stations you can choose between fibre optic and HF data radio either for each coke oven machine or for one central coordination unit. The transceiver station of this central unit also provides an Ethernet interface. The whole process of automation is controlled via PLC, industrial PC for data logging and user interfaces for operation and visualization. These features are integrated either in a central control room or in one or more coke oven machine automation systems.

Automatic functions include:

  • General cross battery interlocking for all coke oven machines incl. quenching tower and wharfs
  • Machine track control with an over all collision protection 
  • Executing of the battery pushing schedule 
  • Data storage and statistics on coke oven machine level including maintenance schedules, readings of all fault messages, measurement of pushing as well as charging forces and others

Positioning systems

An indispensable precondition for the safety of the coking plant and the optimization of cycle times is a precise positioning of the coke oven machinery.

Benefits

  • The read head is not housing any electronic equipment and can therefore be located in an ambient temperature of up to 350 °C 
  • The target plates can be installed in the hot area of the battery. They are of heavy material and fitting the rough conditions in the coke oven plant
  • The codes can be read with every speed of the machine and as well as from both directions
  • Accuracy of the system is +/- 3 mm
  • The targets can also be used for other positions, by changing some parameters in the software
  • Time-saving through exact positioning increases the number of oven cycles
