The Concept
The Traveling Discharge Chute must be sealed to minimize dust escaping from the bunker slot.
- A continuous self-supporting seal belt covers the bunker slot from end to end
- Bend pulleys attached to the tripper raise the seal belt above the discharge chute and then place it back down over the slot
- A tensioning device at one end of the seal belt keeps constant tension on the system
The result is an opening that moves with the discharge chute

High belt tensions, large inertias, varying material trajectories, proper vertical curve radius, starting and stopping distances, braking, bunker sealing and sophisticated Power and Control Systems are some of the unique compexities involved in the design of High Capacity Trippers.
