FLSmidth receives order for power saving cement mill
FLSmidth has signed a contract with Vietnamese Quang Ninh Construction and Cement Joint Stock Company to supply an OK cement mill and packing facilities for their cement plant located approximately 150 km northeast of Hanoi, Vietnam.
The OK mill is a vertical cement grinding mill with environmentally friendly bag type air filters for dedusting. This type of mill saves approximately 40 percent in power consumption compared to traditional ball mills.
The mill is the first of this type sold by FLSmidth in the region, as the customers traditionally have preferred the ball mill type.
The project is being financed through the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) within the framework of the loan programme extended to the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam in 2006.
NIB is the common international financial institution of the Nordic and Baltic countries. The Bank finances private and public projects that strengthen competitiveness and enhance the environment.
"We believe that the sale of this first power saving vertical mill in a region where FLSmidth is well-positioned could lead to opportunities of introducing the mill to other cement producers in the region. This order is also an example of the opportunities for financial assistance we can offer customers with when they are looking at financing of their projects," Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.
