After ordering a new production line from FLSmidth, Molins found that training of its employees was essential for operating the new line most efficiently. The Spanish cement producer therefore contacted FLSmidth and in joint effort a training contract was set up.
Cooperation leads to joint solution Molins had a clear-cut request concerning the time horizon of the training as they wanted to complete the training of all employees concerned before the new cement production line launches ultimo March 2010. This presented a challenge to FLSmidth as the training was to be held within a very restricted period of time. However, in an attempt to meet the needs of its customer, representatives from FLSmidth visited Molins in Spain.
Accompanied by a friendly atmosphere and a history of successful cooperation, FLSmidth and Molins developed a common solution. FLSmidth offered to provide training of Molins’ employees in classes preceding parallel to each other. Molins accepted the training proposal and the contract was recently signed.
Within a time period of 6 weeks the execution of the production, mechanical, electrical and operator training will take place. The training is planned to take place in Spain from 25 January – 5 March 2010 and will thereby be completed before the new production line starts up.
Training is an investment in the future
FLSmidth’s training of Molins’ employees will depart from three main concepts: design, function & maintenance. The combination of the three main concepts provides the employees with relevant in-depth knowledge that is useful from day 1 and many years ahead. The training will vary between in class training and on site training - that is visits to the cement production line. The mixture of in class and on site training will make it possible for the employees to learn and additionally test theory in practice.
By investing in training from FLSmidth, Molins developes valuable assets. The employees achieve in depth knowledge on the machines delivered to the cement production line by FLSmidth machine specialists. Molins thereby receives knowledge on the new line from the source itself. By learning through and from FLSmidth, Molins does however not only acquire knowledge on one product; rather the company is able to draw on competences from the entire FLSmidth Group.
FLSmidth Institute is working on several project-sales packages and this contract shows that our training offerings are considered a valuable investment by our customers. It shows that real dedication, speaking the customers’ language, taking responsibility and ownership of the project as well as listening to customer needs are of significant importance. FLSmidth’s competences within this field have resulted in this particular order.
