Votorantim awards multiple contracts to FLSmidth

The new equipment will enhance the production capabilities at various plants throughout Brazil including Vidal Ramos, Barauna, Nobres, Xambioa and Sepetiba.

Solutions for milling
FLSmidth attributes the success of the contract announced in February 2008 to its ability to supply mills with high power efficiency and high reliability. In addition to engineering services, the scope of supply includes two ATOX raw mills, two OK vertical mills for slag grinding, two OK vertical mills for finished cement grinding and a MAAG WPU spare gearbox. Furthermore, the scope of supply offers Votorantim flexibility in future operation and maintenance; the one spare gearbox can be shared among the new mill systems as well as other mills already owned by Votorantim.

Pyroprocessing
Votorantim and FLSmidth finalized a contract for the supply of three 5-Stage ILC preheaters, three kilns, associated engineering services and spare parts in October 2008. This equipment will be installed at the Vidal Ramos, Barauna, and Nobres plants.

Execution
These contracts were achieved through the mutual efforts of FLSmidth's US project office, based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and FLSmidth’s Brazilian office. Similarly, both groups will together provide the technological and commercial leadership needed to make this project a success.
