Brazilian Loma Negra selects FLSmidth as a key supplier
Loma Negra C.I.A.S.A. has awarded FLSmidth a contract for a new OK 33–4 vertical cement mill for their cement plant in Catamarca, Argentina.
The many benefits of vertical mill technology, such as lower power consumption and short delivery time led Loma Negra to choose the new OK mill.
FLSmidth attributed the success of this order to its ability to meet an aggressive delivery schedule and the long–term value and low operating costs through reduced energy, improved overall operating efficiency, and flexibility in grinding various materials. The low energy consumption is aligned with Loma Negra’s sustainability criteria. Commissioning of the OK mill is scheduled for the second/third quarter in 2009.
Loma Negra, part of Camargo Corrêa Cimentos S.A. of Brazil, is a leading cement producer in Argentina, headquartered in Buenos Aires and with engineering offices in the city of Olavarría. The Catamarca cement plant is located north of the Argentine capital and it is part of a vast manufacturing and distribution network. This contract marks the second purchase of an OK mill by Loma Negra. This new OK 33–4 mill will produce multiple types of cement, including a limestone and slag blend and OPC.
