Kirsten Theisen, Senior Research Engineer, MSc. Chem. Eng

Kirsten Theisen, Senior Research Engineer

Kirsten has worked in Chemical Research and Development during her more than 40 years with FLSmidth. Her first projects dealt with development of new and improved laboratory methods. Her work area expanded to small- and large-scale grinding and burning tests, characterisation of raw materials, and responsibility for cement plant laboratories delivered by FLSmidth world-wide. Later Kirsten’s extensive knowledge and experience have been used for trouble-shooting and training assignments.

Delvi Rodriguez, Manager of Training

Delvi Rodriguez, Manager of Training

Delvi Rodriguez has been in the industry of cement for more than 20 years with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He started his career in the cement industry as project engineer, working at the installation of several equipment such as crusher and stacker, wet and dry kiln, coolers, ball mills and vertical mills.

Before joining FLSmidth, Delvi was manager of maintenance for 13 years, working in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and United States.

He joined FLSmidth as a senior training engineer in 2012 and from March 2013 is the manager of training of FLSmidth Institute for the Americas.

Henrik Rask Sønderborg, Training Manager

Henrik Rask Sønderborg, Training ManagerStarting his career with FLSmidth in commissioning, Henrik gained a solid knowledge of most areas in the cement plant. After nearly a decade in commissioning, Henrik took up position as process manager in the FLSmidth Brazil office and spent 6 years overseeing FLSmidth process design and process troubleshooting.

Upon return to FLSmidth Copenhagen, Henrik has been employed both in the process design department and is now process training manager in the Institute.

Ulrik Damgaard Pedersen, Training manager

Training Manager at FLSmidth Institute, Development, elaboration and training project execution in:
Russia, East Asia, Europe, North and middle Africa, South America and at international seminars, internal & external trainings at FLSmidth Denmark.
Training development, coordination and training execution at FLSmidth “Operation & Maintenance” plants in Egypt, Angola, Tunisia, Libya etc.
Started in FLSmidth in Quality Assurance and inspection, continued as an engineer for inspection and local fabrication in Spain, Brazil and South America. Worked as a Department Manager in mechanical installation services.

Shyamsundar Muthusubramanyam, Training manager

Shyamsundar is a mechanical engineer with more than 25 years' experience in cement industry. He started his career as a Project engineer in a Cement Plant Project. He, later, joined Tata group in Installation & commissioning of a cement plant followed by its maintenance till the year 2001.
He joined FLSmidth in 2001 as a Mechanical Installation Engineer in Field services department and was involved in Installation of cement plants in India and in the country of Iran.
He took the role of Manager of FLSmidth Institute in 2006 and has been involved in several training assignments in India and abroad.
He has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering and a Post graduate diploma in Business management. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil languages and has a spoken level proficiency in Persian language.

Lester Nottle, Technical Training Manager

Kim  Dam-Johansen, Professor at Technical University of Denmark

Lester brings many years of experience in the mineral processing industry. His knowledge and experience include commodities such as diamond, iron ore and aluminium industries, where he worked in different positions developing and delivering training.

Lester’s deep appreciation of the conditions and firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by people working in operations has helped in his current position to develop, deliver and manage effective training programs that target the mineral processing industry.

Lester joined FLSmidth as training manager for the Australia-South East Asia region in 2013.
