Installing a SNCR system from FLSmidth is a safe and effective way to meet stricter emission standards

Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction
  • Overview

Key benefits

  • High ammonia utilisation
  • Highly reliable
  • Negligible emission by-products
  • Complete solution
  • Full process and service support
  • Safety and quality compliant
  • Integrated system – ensures optimal control

Full service and support

In addition to feasibility studies, construction and delivery, FLSmidth also offers complete service support for SNCR systems that are up and running; commissioning, training and emissions measuring are provided to ensure a truly integrated system operating at its best.

Unique spray lance

A proprietary spray lance and nozzle design provides optimum spray coverage into the process gas – a crucial factor in operating efficiency and ammonia utilisation.

Lower operating costs

When an SNCR unit is combined with FLSmidth’s industry-leading Low NOX calciner, you achieve the most cost-efficient NOX emission-reduction solution possible for the plant as a whole.

How it works

Installing an SNCR system from FLSmidth is a reliable and effective way to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The employed reagent, an aqueous ammonia solution, reacts with the process gas, reducing the NOx to form elemental nitrogen (N2). It provides an ammonia utilisation degree of up to 80% under ideal conditions – a very cost-efficient and highly competitive reagent utilisation.

SNCR systems are suitable for new and existing dry kiln systems and can be customised to fit most kiln systems in operation or on the market today. Comprising any number of ammonia reagent storage tanks with unloading and supply pump units, control- and measuring modules, injection modules and specially engineered spray lances with nozzles, they come complete with a standardised FLSmidth control system and can be CE-marked as an entity.

Industry-leading solutions

An industry leader in emission reduction technology, FLSmidth provides complete SNCR solutions with full support for all stages of the project – from feasibility studies and on-site portable rig testing, to erection supervision, commissioning, optimising, warranty testing and operating, maintenance and safety training of personnel.

SNCR systems comply fully with all relevant safety and quality standards.

Safety

While the use of an ammonia reagent is a popular way of dealing with kiln exhausts, effective functioning is vital to avoiding harmful by-products such as carbon monoxide, laughing gas and ammonia slip. With FLSmidth’s SNCR systems, these by-products are negligible, thanks to our in-depth knowledge of kiln operations and the extensive field tests our installations undergo.
