Organisational Development
To meet the ever changing demands of the market-place, FLSmidth from time to time reviews its organisation. Our aim is to maintain a flexible organisation linked to the overall strategy and business model.
The Organisation and People Review (OPR) process entails dialogue with and data collection from the organisation. Its purpose is to review, challenge and develop the strategy, the employees and the management - viewed against market forces, customers and other important external factors which FLSmidth from time to time needs to take into consideration.
The OPR facilitation process focuses on what drives the business and on maintaining a flexible organisation. This is done by involving management in thorough and systematic assessment of fundamental conditions, enabling them to propose and assess potential changes and new approaches.
Ideally, the OPR process takes place annually and includes reporting and presentation to the top management of the organisational unit it concerns. The OPR processes may be combined into an overall view of the present situation and potential development activities.
Being a flexible organisation, FLSmidth needs to both have an overall strategy and business model and be able to adjust and develop its human resources and management in parallel with the local market challenges. The level at which an OPR is carried out may therefore differ.
The key actors in an OPR process are the management and the employees involved. Facilitators from FLSmidth Global Human Resources ensure that the process moves forward, and reporting is done jointly.
