Through the well-known brands KOCH™ and MVT™; FLSmidth offers the consolidated strength of two leading suppliers of material handling equipment and systems. The KOCH™ and MVT™ brands form the Material Handling Technology Center of the FLSmidth group.

Furthermore, FLSmidth's Material Handling Technology Center delivers advanced expertise in conveying equipment application, design and engineering, from trough belt conveyors to enclosed conveying systems. With more than 300 pipe conveyor installations, including the world’s longest with a length of 8.2 km in Peru, FLSmidth is the market leader in the sector of conveying technology.
KOCH and MVT’s bulk material systems are based on more than 60 years of experience and are in use for the mining, processing, and handling of any type of bulk material. Both, KOCH and MVT have their roots in long-established, medium-sized and family owned companies.
The MVT brand, the former MVT Materials Handling GmbH, was founded in 1972 by Mr. Bernhard Blatton and has been a member of the FLSmidth Group since 2002.
KOCH Technologies®, which includes also KOCH in Austria, was founded in 1945 by Mrs. Emilie Koch under the name KOCH Transporttechnik GmbH and joined the FLSmidth Group in 2007. The name KOCH is well known for its expertise in conveying systems including market leading Pipe Conveyor Technology, Loading and Unloading Facilities and Coke Oven Plant Technology.
