Our business integrity is founded upon a number of key business policies that have been refined since our beginning in 1882. Today, these policies remain the cornerstone of our business and are the driving force behind the way we conduct business around the world.

CSR Policy

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of FLSmidth’s business operations and remains a key area of our global business strategy.

At FLSmidth, we aim to align CSR with business operations as part of our overall business strategy. In recent years, we have made significant progress in this area; having signed the UN Global Compact in November 2008, FLSmidth has committed itself to supporting the United Nations’ ten principles regarding human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

FLSmidth’s CSR reporting focuses on the areas in which FLSmidth has real influence and can make an important difference. These are:

  • Business Ethics
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Employees
  • Health, Safety & Environment

FLSmidth’s progress report to the UN Global Compact was submitted on 7 February 2011 for the first time. Two more have been submitted since then. See the reports in their full length here.

  • Our Code of Business Conduct defines what is expected of FLSmidth’s employees when doing business in order to comply with the company’s high standards of business ethics, integrity and credibility.
  • Our Human Resource Policy outlines the way in which FLSmidth interacts with its employees, including general terms of employment, assurance of employees' equal rights and opportunities, protection against discrimination and abuse, and respect for human rights.
  • We are committed to excellence in safety by ingraining a health, safety and environment (HSE) mind-set into our culture and, above all, by always keeping safety as a top priority.
