The FLSmidth Automation Indutherm II system is designed for the measurement of temperature in a rotary kiln or cement mill. The system provides useful temperature information which is beneficial in helping to determine the conditional state of the kiln or mill.
Features
• On-line continuous temperature measurement
• Wireless transmission - accurate and reliable
• Simple system - easy installation
• Low maintenance
Description
The system is designed with the unique concept of utilising Wireless Transmission techniques to transmit temperature information from rotating machinery. That means that the system performance will not be affected by variations in the environmental conditions which it is exposed to.
Mode of operation
The system uses different temperature sensors for the respective measurement of temperature in the kilns or mills. For the kiln application, a NiCr-Ni sensor is inserted through the kiln shell and measures the gas temperature.
For the mill application, a pt 100 sensor is installed through the mill shell and measures the cement temperature in the diaphragm.
The electrical temperature signal is processed into electrical pulses which are subsequently transmitted wireless via the annular cables to the stationary receiver. Similarly, the power supply is also transmitted to the instrument wireless.
The simplicity of the system means that the installation procedure is relatively easy. In addition, the wireless concept results in no contact, no friction, no wear, which minimizes the maintenance need after installation.
