The automatic quality control system for Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co. Ltd, Beijing, China passed a positive and smooth factory acceptance test…
Only 7 months after signing the significant contract in China, pfaff aqs finished mounting, installation and programming of the steel plant quality control system.
The equipment contains 15 transport tube systems from the plant to the laboratory and 15 automatic receiving stations, which can be extended to 18 units. 3 cooling systems cool down the steel samples on their way to the 3 fully automatic milling machines PAL-MIL, “state of the art” for sample preparation on the market. This milling technology ensures a fast and reproducible sample preparation and works with one milling-step production of the analytic surface. The system also contains two fully automatic systems PAL-MPA for the preparation of oxide samples such as slags for the X-ray analysis. The scope of supply also comprises 3 automated analysis systems for the OE-analysis and 2 automated XRF spectrometers. Furthermore two sample punching machines prepare the samples for gas analysis, which is done by automated carbon-sulphur and oxygen-nitrogen analyzers. All necessary parameters for sample preparation and analysis are administrated and visualized by the pc-based laboratory organization system.
In this project the analysers have been delivered by Panalytical, Thermo (ARL) and Horiba, but we also work together very successful with other named suppliers such as Spectro, OBLF, Bruker etc. due to customer demands.
To reach this target and to be right in time with the factory acceptance test, all members of the pfaff aqs team engaged themselves intensively on this ambitious project, from construction over purchasing, installation and programming by working overtime and on weekends. The recompense of this team work is a satisfied customer and options for further projects in China.
