

Sales Manager programme
Basic business understanding – September 2008, 4 months
At our global headquarters in Copenhagen, you will initially participate in an introduction course on FLSmidth and our products followed by an internship period, where you will follow a number of courses, spend a few weeks in relevant departments and visit selected sites. Introduction courses include:
- Introduction to FLSmidth. This course module provides an outline of our history, our business and developments as well as our organisation
- The cement plant focuses on the following elements: machinery design & operation, control systems & electrical design, plant layout and process/chemistry/environmental issues. It will also involve plant visits.
- Sales and project management will centre on proposal preparation, financial aspects, contracts & legal matters as well as relevant IT tools.
- Working around the world is a specially designed course module to prepare you for worldwide travels. It will focus on psychological aspects of travelling, intercultural communication, presentation techniques as well as language courses and how to cope in the tropics.
The introduction includes visits to cement plants at one or more of our international project sites – and to FLSmidth’s research centre Dania in Mariager, Denmark.
International project site – January 2009, 12 months
You will spend a year on location at one of our international project sites to acquire practical in-depth knowledge about cement and minerals plants. Locations could include:
- Russia
- Egypt/Middle East
- Ukraine
- India
- North Africa
- Spain
- Vietnam
- South Africa
Regional sales office – January 2010, 12 months
If possible, you will spend another year in the sales department in one of our regional offices to learn about the sales process. Locations could include:
- China
- Brazil
- India
- Indonesia
- Mexico
- Russia
- South Africa
- Spain
- UK
- USA
Practical sales training – January 2011, 2 months
As a final instalment, you will return to our headquarters in Copenhagen and spend two months with one of our Sales Managers receiving on-the-job training in sales work.
At the end of the graduate programme, you will be offered a position as Sales Manager in Copenhagen and a chance to further develop your career and skills in a truly international company offering you a wealth of opportunities in Denmark and throughout the world.
