Process Simulation with ECS and Cemulator 2008
26 May 2008 - 30 May 2008
Process Simulation with ECS/Cemulator 2008
Having a well-trained staff may prevent kiln stops and improve efficiency. The course provides training in the use of the ECS/CEMulator, a cement process simulator supplied by FLSmidth Automation. The course covers how to operate and instruct using this tool.
Learning objectives
After attending the course, participants will be able to start sessions in ECS/CEMulator for self tuition or as an instructor for trainees. The participants will also have received some ideas on how tutorials and evaluation work in the ECS/CEMulator and some guidelines on how to make training sessions successful using the ECS/CEMulator.
Benefits
Simulation increases skills for optimal utilisation of the process for operators. The training with a simulator is an absolutely risk-free environment in which operators and engineers can try “what if” scenarios to improve their insight in how the process and its control system act.
Contents of the course
One day focuses on training the operator/trainee to use the basic functionalities of the ECS/CEMulator seen from a trainee’s point of view: How to use the ECS/CEMulator as well as information on disturbances, input parameters and session evaluation. As a basis for this, ECS/ControlCenter basics and advanced user functions are included in the training.
Two days focuses on training the instructor to use the basic functionalities to make his own tutorials, including session handling, disturbances, input parameters and session evaluation.
The course includes exercises.
The course is a combination of the following courses:
• ECS Basic 2 days
• ECS/Cemulator Basic 1 day
• ECS/Cemulator Advanced 2 days
Form
The course is a combination of theoretical classroom PC-supported lectures and hands-on exercises.
Documentation
Each participant will receive a binder with a complete set of training materials.
Target group
The course is designed for plant engineers, operators and technicians, who are assigned to be the ECS/CEMulator users, instructors or CEMulator super-user.
