Cement Grinding Technology 2008
Having a skilled team plays a key role in the optimal utilisation of the cement grinding installation. The operators and process engineers must be able to evaluate all the process variables in order to optimise the production economy. This course provides an in depth understanding of grinding theory and equipment and gives you the tools to audit your own installation.
Learning objectives
The purpose of the course is to give operators and process engineers tools to optimise the output of an existing cement grinding installation.
Benefits
By having a thorough understanding of the plant power consumption, proper process control and a full understanding of the equipment and grinding theory the participants will be able to evaluate and optimise any existing cement grinding installation and thereby boost the production rate.
Contents of the course
• Cement mills, types and their mode of operation
• Separators, types and their mode of operation
• Ball mills, internal installations and grinding media charges
• Calculation of power consumption for ball mills and grinding media charges
• Automatic process control for cement mill systems
• Calculation for separator control
• The influence of separator efficiency on power consumption and particle size distribution
• Maintenance of grinding media charges in relation to wear
• Cooling and grinding aids
• General measurements and calculations for determination of gas and airflows
• Sampling and sample preparation – clinker and cement
