The firm was started by N. N. Bhagwati, a Structural Engineer from the University of Michigan, saw clearly in his mind a blueprint, a master design that would put the Indian Engineering industry on par with the world. The key elements of his vision were professionalism, entrepreneurship and commitment to excellence.

 

1962
Navin N. Bhagwati formed a partnership firm in the name of Bhagwati and Kumbhani to offer Civil, Structural and Architectural Consultancy Services.

 

1971
Bhagwati & Kumbhani was dissolved to form a proprietary concern, Bhagwati & Associates.

 

1972
A new private limited company, Bhagwati Associates Pvt. Ltd. was formed a year later. The firm was now handling vast and varied projects, not just in civil, structural & architectural engineering, but also in new areas such as environmental engineering, mechanical & electrical fields.

 

1982
Bhagwati Designs Pvt. Ltd. was formed

 

2001
Bhagwati Designs Pvt. Ltd. became a part of the F.L. Smidth Group

2008
Bhagwati Designs Pvt. Ltd changes name to FLSmidth Designs Pvt. Ltd.
