Gas Conditioning Systems

Gas conditioning

The preparation of a gas to be analysed – the gas conditioning – is a high-focus area in FLSmidth Airloq. The gas conditioning is extremely important to obtain a reliable, accurate analytic result.

The gas conditioning unit is individually designed for each application. It typically consists of a gas cooler, a gas pump, a condensation pump, a flow meter, a filter with humidity sensor, valves as well as necessary fittings and other electrical components.

The sample gas pump sucks the gas from the process to the GASloq gas analysis system. In the sample gas cooler, the gas is cooled to 5°C to remove condensate/water. The gas passes through the flow meter and the filter with humidity sensor before it is analysed in the gas analyser.

To remove harmful components such as alkali and sulphur, a peroxide dosing system can be integrated into the GASloq gas conditioning system. In this way, SO2 is removed from the gas which protects the sample gas pump among others.

For emission measurement, the task is different. Here the gas concentrations to be measured can be so small that special treatment of the gas is necessary in order not to wash out the emission gasses.
