We are taking steps to make lithium production more sustainable

Enter the "Pyro Island", a key MissionZero technology. This is a collection of our best tech working together to extract the maximum amount of lithium from  spodumene concentrate using the least amount of energy and water, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with production of battery-grade lithium.

Key principles of the Pyro Island technology are to reduce the energy required in the conversion process by maximising heat recovery, minimising water consumption in the cooling process, minimising energy in the milling process and maximising the recovery of off-gases. In addition, the acid roast process is now available using electric heating and the conversion kiln can be fired with hydrogen, eliminating the  carbon footprint altogether.

Watch the interview with Tim Kyle who talks about the Pyro Island and our goals to enable more sustainable exploration of critical battery minerals.
